Not Such an Ordinary Day in the Life of "The Writer Who Wasn't"

"I can't believe it has taken me this long to get a blog posted. Whoo'd a thunk it? But I have been very busy with moving from one location to another, and well, not much time left over for my blogging experience."

"I have lost so much weight I can hardly recognize myself. I am still not as small as I once was, but if I keep doing the things I've been doing lately, the pounds will just keep melting away. "

"I love the new home front, so quiet, except for the occassional frog and of course the birds who sing all day long. My garden is full of blooms. My planters look heavenly sitting on my picnick table as I dream of the rock garden I am going to create. . ."

"Guess I need to beounze off of here, work to do. . ."

Another Ordinary Day in the Life of "The Writer Who Wasn't"

"It has been so long since the last time that I posted to my blog, 'I think I have forgotten how to type!'; not a good thing, when you consider I have used a keyboard most of my life. . ."

"I have been so busy with work and learning so many different things that I haven't found the time to update my blog, it has been one exciting roller coaster ride and the scenery is awesome."

"During the long hours spent on the road I have been taking a lot of photographs of some spectacular areas near my home. Here is a shot of Lover's Leap Mountain. Legend is that a young couple leapt to their deaths from one of the cliffs."

" There are numerous trails along these mountains where people ride dirtbikes, atv's and horses. And I have been told that there is an old woman who lives in the area, without electricity or running water. Her only companions are her chickens. It sounds so idealistic, but when I think of life without the Internet I just don't want to go there. But then I could always go with a battery powered laptop and a wireless connection. Ummh?!?"

"This is another photograph I took while on the Parkway at one of the houses we have been building. I think the funny spot in the middle of the sun is my camera's lens? I think?"

"That's my sweet heart on top of the roof finishing off yet another roof full of shingles. We have been doing a lot of that, along with vinyl siding, framing for sidewalks, decks, pressure washing (which can be a lot of fun when it is hot outside!), and the list goes on and on. . .And a bonus, I have lost a lot of weight, and the plan is to loose a lot more of the fatty stuff."

"This photo was taken while on our way to Boxwood Green at Smith Mountain Lake. Isn't it beautiful?"

"I have seen Lama's, Alpacas, Goats, Cows, Horses, Pigs, Wild Turkeys, Deer, an Albino Deer, the list goes on. . .and I have discovered that I love the journey to and from every job site and spending the time with my husband all day long, this picture is a representation of just how wonderful and over whelming that feeling is."

"I took this photo of Lover's Leap the day after our big snow, perhaps the only one of the year, still possible for another one to come our way, but doubtful. I love this view, and will miss it now that our job has finished in the area but the drive to Falcon's Nest road in Bedford County is just as rewarding in the scenery department."

"This photo was taken the night of the big snow, those white specks are not stars either, they are snow flakes, some as big as 50 cent pieces. If I had know the flakes would show up so clearly I would have taken more photographs, unfortunately they looked like Christmas lights on my camera's display screen so I only took two photos."

"Really gotta fly!"

"Have a great week!"

January 14, 2006

"Yesterday was a great day! Everyone celebrated, while eating some really great food."

"Below a plaque my brother, sisters and I purchased for our parent's for their anniversary."

"Below a larger view of the inscription on the plaque. Photo's were taken by my brother with an truly amazing digital camera."

"Below, our mom and dad share a toast, which I am told is totally traditional."

"Below, the cake, which was delicious along with all the other yummy treats, like orange brownies, crab salad, crab and cocktail sauce, chilibeans, baked beans, macaroni salad, snack platters packed with everything, barbequed wenies and so forth and so on. . ."

"Mom and Dad cut the cake."

"Have a wonderful day"

Just Another Ordinary Day

"We belong Together"

Like the open Seas and Shores

Wedded by the Planet Force

We've all been spoken For . . .

The hammer may Strike

Me dead on the Ground

A Nail to my Hand

A Cross on his Crown

We've done It, Who we were darling

Finished It

Who we are Incomplete

As one we are Everything

We are Everything

We belong Together

Like the open Seas and Shores

Wedded by the Planet Force

We've all been Spoken For

What good is a Life

With no one to Share

The light of the Moon

The honor of a Swear

We could try to live the way it would just Be

Taste the Milk of your Mother Earth's Love

Spread the word of consciousness at Sea

We are everything, We Three

We belong Together

Like the open Seas and Shores

Wedded by the Planet Force

We've all been Spoken For

All this Indecision

All this Independent Strain

Still we've got our Hearts own Say

We've got our Hearts own Say

Someday when you’re Lonely

Sometime after all this Bliss

Some we lost in Emptiness

I hope you find this Gift . . .

I hope you find this Gift . . .

I hope you find this Gift . . .

"Just Another Ordinary Day in the Life of The Writer Who Wasn't"

"The big snow storm predicted for yet another winter weekend fizz. . .ziz. . .eled out, with temps around 40 degrees, would have put my money on, drum roll please. . . *NO SNOW!*"

"This is going to be a very unique Christmas. For starters, it is the first with 6 grandchildren to celebrate the holiday with us."

"It sort of sounds weird to refer to Christmas as a holiday, considering what it represents. I get so tired of people complaining about commercialism, not that they don't have a point, they do. But I have always felt it was the act of giving which wraps everything else up in a tight little ribbon with a bright shimmering bow attached."

"It's not what's in the box that matters, it's the heart, the love, the giving and the joy received when another human being smiles. I have always felt that the greatest gift of all is love. And I have loads of that this Christmas. So I don't think I'll be needing any presents to unwrap."

"We're having a wonderful meal at my mother's house Christmas Eve, I'll see most of my family there, those who are not there will be with us in our hearts and our memories of days long past. We'll eat, recall moments spent together with a smile, each knowing that time doesn't stop for any of us. Our lives will go on for yet another year, but as long as we are living and breathing, we'll share this one special day in celebration of life, of love and of sacrifice, because if you truly love, you will sacrifice everything, even your life, and isn't that the greatest gift of all?"

"Have a wonderful Christmas each and all!"

"Later. . ."
